Thermoluminescence Properties of Bioglass for Radiation Dosimetry

نویسندگان

چکیده

The thermoluminescence technique was employed to study bioglass matrix prepared using the traditional of glass making. synthesized were investigated X-ray diffraction (XRD), and differential thermal analysis (DTA) has been studied. highest thermoluminescent intensity found for composition 26.91 % CaO, 45.68 SiO2, 2.50 P2O5, 25.094 %Na2O (mol%), with only one glow peak at 460 k. TL response illustration is slightly sub-linear in high gamma dose range from 25 1000 Gy. This new system might become useful high-dose fields dosimetry.

Thermoluminescence characteristics of Ge-doped optical fibers with different dimensions for radiation dosimetry.

Important thermoluminescence (TL) properties of five (5) different core sizes Ge-doped optical fibers have been studied to develop new TL material with better response. These are drawn from same preform applying different speed and tension during drawing phase to produce Ge-doped optical fibers with five (5) different core sizes. The results of the investigations are also compared with most com...

Evaluation of Ferrous-Agarose-Xylenol Gel Properties in Radiation Dosimetry

Background: Over recent decades, modern protocols of external beam radioÂ‌therapy and radiation techniques such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) have been developed. These methods are extremely sensitive to errors in treatment delivery, so that it is essential to apply a high resolution 3D dosimetry system that has high sensitivity and is capable of measuring and verifying the complex...

Advantages and Disadvantages in the Utilisation of Thermoluminescence (tl) and Optically Stimulated Luminescence (osl) for Radiation Dosimetry

Thermoluminescence is an established method for radiation dosimetry as well as retrospective dosimetry. In spite of its great success, different difficulties are associated with its application. These include anomalous fading, changes in the properties of the sample due to its heating in the readout phase, including a sensitization due to the combined effect of irradiation and heating and non-l...

An investigation of the thermoluminescence of Ge-doped SiO2 optical fibres for application in interface radiation dosimetry.

We investigate the ability of high spatial resolution (∼120 μm) Ge-doped SiO2 TL dosimeters to measure photoelectron dose enhancement resulting from the use of a moderate to high-Z target (an iodinated contrast media) irradiated by 90 kVp X-rays. We imagine its application in a novel radiation synovectomy technique, modelled by a phantom containing a reservoir of I2 molecules at the interface o...
